The Town of Marana has a new vice mayor. During the June 21 town council meeting, Councilwoman Patti Comerford was unanimously selected to replace Herb Kai, who had served in that position for more than 10 years. Kai nominated Comerford for the position.
Comerford served as chair of the Marana Planning and Zoning Commission before being elected to the council in March 2001. She has a strong background in recreation. The new vice mayor and her family live in the Continental Ranch area, where she is active in youth programs.
