The Greater Oro Valley Chamber of Commerce announced today they will continue to give customers $10 for every $100 they spend in OV Dollars until January 31, 2013. The Chamber has been offering this incentive since the town of Oro Valley launched its Shop Oro Valley Holiday Campaign on November 1, 2012. During that time, the Chamber has sold 51 cards, totaling $3,655.
"We appreciate the Chamber's support of the Town and the OV Dollars program," said Mayor Satish Hiremath. "Sales tax is a major source of revenue for the community, with local taxes representing approximately 44% of the Town's general fund. For the Chamber to reach into their own budget and offer this incentive shows their commitment to the visitors and residents of Oro Valley."
Dave Perry, President/CEO, Greater Oro Valley Chamber of Commerce added, "OV Dollars help to stimulate the local economy, and that's what our Chamber works for every day. We're pleased to provide the $10 incentive to keep dollars moving in our community."
The Town launched OV Dollars on December 5, 2011. The program operates much like a regular gift card, but instead of only being able to use it at one retailer, shoppers can swipe their card at any of the participating businesses in Oro Valley. OV Dollars cards are available to purchase at Oro Valley Town Hall Administration building, located at 11000 N. La Canada Drive, Monday - Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and the Greater Oro Valley Chamber of Commerce, located at 7435 N. Oracle Road, Monday - Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
