To reduce an increasing trend in injury-related vehicle collisions, the Oro Valley Police Department is conducting “High Visibility Enforcement” (HiVE) details during the month of September on Oracle Road at the Magee and Suffolk intersections.
Over the past two years, statistics indicate that one out of every four collision in those intersections result in injury.
The OVPD hopes to increase awareness and reduce collisions resulting from driver inattention, following too closely, and failing to yield to other drivers.
Four motorcycle officers will be deployed at those intersections today from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Motorists are asked to be aware of the additional enforcement activity and drive safely.
Questions regarding this release and traffic-related issues in Oro Valley should be directed to Lieutenant Chris Olson at 520-229-4902.
