Another week down, another week closer to my goal. Zach has started to begin building muscle in me. I have been lifting weights up to this point, but I guess the focus had been on losing weight. The goal is still losing more weight, but now we are building muscle. Back to being sore for a few days after each session! I am lifting heavy amounts that really are a struggle to finish my sets. Zach had me doing squats with 30 pounds sitting on my shoulders, and I thought no wonder I couldn't do squats when I first started - all that extra weight is hard to get your body up and down. And I was carrying around an extra 100 pounds every moment of the day!
I am turning 40 in 2 weeks and am very excited to say that I will be healthier than when I was 20! I was an athlete in high school, but I have never in my life eaten as healthy as I have the past 8 months. So even in my physical prime of high school athletics, my insides were not as healthy as they are now! I was also given the okay by my doc to stop taking my high blood pressure medication! wooo hoooo! The main side effect is fatigue, so I should be a whole new woman! Marching on...
