With week 8 comes big changes. I got weighed and measured again and found some interesting results. I lost another 5 pounds with no significant change in body fat, but, amazingly, lost a total of about 9 ½"!! I was amazed. Of course though, Steve, my trainer, asked how I was feeling and, naively, I said "Fantastic!"
Little did I realize, that was gym talk for "we need to kick up this workout." So, on Wednesday, Steve had a whole new game plan. I can tell you that I have been sore for the last two days and am sure it will not be gone by tomorrow morning when I see him again. The funny thing was that I was originally a little relieved when he emailed me the workout. I saw downward dog and thought, "Oh, I can do that!" What I didn't realize was that the downward dog was only there to allow my heart rate to come down. He was not joking when he said that we weren't going to mess around!
Fatigue is still a bit of an issue for me but I am trying to work through it. I did manage to resume my running again despite the busy schedule and sore knee. I think with time and continued effort, these little "hiccups" in my path with soon fade away.
Thing I learned this week: It's ok if a workout is extremely tough and I'm not able to do it as well as I would like. If I keep trying, it will get easier.
