With Week 5 comes a sense of ease and comfort in my new endeavor. Working out has started to feel like second nature and my dietary requirements no longer seem like a "diet." I can feel that the transition into a newer, healthier lifestyle is beginning to take hold.
I am so proud of myself when it comes to my exercise routine. My trainer, Steve, has really kicked my workouts up, but, I cannot be beaten! Even though I find myself much sweatier and winded after a workout, I also feel an overwhelming sense of accomplishment. One of my biggest moments this week was running a complete 5K, without the push of my trainer, but with just my personal desire to make it happen. I'm really beginning to take stock in what I can accomplish and what I can push my body to do. All I can say is this week made me pleasantly surprised.
Like I've mentioned before, I typically look forward to Sunday, which is my free diet day. But this week, Sunday morning came, I did my workout, and instead of searching the pantry for something different, I reached for my protein bar. Even when my kids asked Daddy to get them donuts, I didn't even want any. There were no thoughts of greasy pizza or filling nachos. I was happy with what I had...at least until my friend arrived with red velvet cake! Even then, one slice later, I was done.
Things I learned this week: 1) I am proud of my accomplishments so far. 2) Healthy food isn't so bad!
