The Split Livers, a collaborative music project between Danny Barnes of the band “Bad Livers” and Wayne Gottstine of Split Lip Rayfield, will come to the Tucson’s Club Congress on Sat., Aug. 18 at 8 p.m.

Barnes and Gottstine are widely considered two of the most influential musicians when it comes to the alternative and acoustic punk bluegrass genres.

Barnes is known for his inventive take and ability to cross several musical genres, using his banjo to play non-traditional music like rock, fusion, and jazz with electronic percussion and loop elements.

Gottstine and his band also bring a new take on music with a genre considered to be a mixture of bluegrass and country with an accent of metal.

The two artists will bring their talent and musical tastes together on stage for what is expected to be an entertaining and unique performance.

Gottstine and Barnes will play songs from each of their bands while also collaborating to make new music, with an album release expected in the near future.

Tickets cost eight dollars and can be purchased at Hotel Congress or at ticketmaster.com

For more information on the artists, visit their web pages at dannybarnes.com and splitliprayfield.com.
