Chamber events director is leaving the post this week
Cecelia Smith, events director for the Northern Pima County Chamber of Commerce, is leaving the position this week, chamber president and chief executive officer Ramon Gaanderse said Monday.
Smith, who is from Georgia, is moving with her husband back to the Southeast. He has taken a position near Huntsville, Ala.
"I am grateful for the rewarding opportunity to serve the membership of the chamber, and will take with me some wonderful experiences that are sure to have an everlasting impact on me personally and professionally," Smith said.
Smith joined the chamber in January 2009.
"While her great attention to detail was obvious, her contributions to customer service were truly above and beyond," Gaanderse said. "With her help on monthly and special events, the chamber increased its visibility in our community as well as to our membership. But perhaps even more importantly, the vendors she worked with and members she interacted with, the feedback was always positive."
