Steven M. Banzhaf has been named Bank of America market president for Tucson by the company's Arizona president, Benito Almanza.

In the role, Banzhaf leads the team "that delivers the company's corporate social responsibility strategy locally, including overseeing philanthropic grants, community development lending and investing activities, volunteerism, and serving as a steward for the Bank of America Lending and Investing Initiative," a release said.

He'll also work "to improve coordination across local Bank of America business lines, align Bank of America resources to local market needs and lead marketing initiatives to strengthen the Bank of America brand"

"Steve is an experienced banker who will be an effective champion for business growth, community investment and neighborhood vitality in Tucson," said Almanza.  "Tucson is an important market for Bank of America, and we are fortunate to have such a strong, proven leader like Steve heading our team locally."

Banzhaf will continue to serve in his role as a senior client adviser with U.S. Trust, Bank of America Private Wealth Management. Banzhaf is the immediate past chairman of the board of directors for the United Way of Tucson and Southern Arizona, and remains active with the organization and its community outreach activities.
