Community foundation announces new grant round

Posted

The Community Foundation for Southern Arizona today announced its plans to award $200,000 in grants to local and regional nonprofit organizations that are working to alleviate poverty and its effects on children. The maximum grant will be $25,000 and agencies have until Friday, November 1st to submit a letter of inquiry. Instructions and guidelines are available at cfsaz.org

“The Foundation is known for helping to shine a light on difficult issues,” said Clint Mabie, President and CEO of the Foundation. “Though a total of $200,000 may not seem like much, our hope is that others will join us as we seek out solutions to better the lives of our most vulnerable residents: our children.”

The Community Investment Team (CIT), a Board-appointed committee of volunteers assigned to oversee the Foundation’s grant processes, reviewed statistics found in the Southern Arizona Indicators Project, recent media coverage and the results of a donor survey before deciding on the focus of this grant round.

The Foundation and its affiliates granted more than $5.4 million to regional nonprofits last year.  To learn more about the Community Foundation for Southern Arizona, please visit www.cfsaz.org.
