David Godlewski, a public affairs issues management specialist, has joined the staff of the Southern Arizona Home Builders Association as government liaison.

He will serve as the association’s “key point of contact on regulatory, water and technical issues with local government officials,” a release said.

Godlewski joins SAHBA from Lansing, Mich., where he was vice president of public affairs for The Sterling Corporation, a political consulting and issues management firm. Sterling’s clientele included a variety of corporate and non-profit clients, ranging from gaming to pharmaceuticals.

Godlewski also brings to SAHBA “extensive experience in grassroots political organization, local legislative and statewide political campaigns, strategic planning, and fundraising,” the release continued.

He replaces Alex Jácome, who retired July 1 after five years of service with SAHBA.
