An Oro Valley man has been named the new chief executive officer of Tucson Orthopaedic Institute, one of the nation’s 10 largest orthopaedic practices.
Greg Waters is overseeing the Institute’s four Tucson locations, including its joint venture ambulatory surgery centers and physical therapy facilities.
TOI’s medical practice includes 35 orthopaedic physicians and seven mid-level providers, a release said.
Waters joined Tucson Orthopaedic Institute in October 2006 as chief operating officer. In that role, he spearheaded the medical group’s move to electronic medical records, and streamlined its operational systems, the release said.
Before joining TOI, Waters was CEO at Desert Cardiology of Tucson for eight years.
He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Arizona and an MBA from the University of Phoenix. Waters and his wife, Carla, have two children, and have lived in the Tucson area since 1982.
