Marana has invited Tucson Regional Economic Opportunities to participate in development of its economic roadmap.
The town council decided last year to end its $50,000 a year commitment to TREO.
Communication is resuming, town officials said last Tuesday.
"It's time the Marana community looks at reconnecting and reinvesting with TREO," Councilman Russell Clanagan said at the council meeting May 5. "What they're doing to position themselves in the market … is something that will benefit our community. It's time to allow them a presentation, and see what we can do."
Councilman Jon Post asked Mayor Ed Honea if Marana invited TREO to help with the economic roadmap. David Welsh, TREO's senior vice president of strategic partnerships, "will participate," Honea answered, and Town Manager Gilbert Davidson confirmed.
"We are very heartened by that" invitation, Welsh said at a Thursday meeting.
