The music of AC/DC will return Feb. 12 to the Rialto Theatre when 2nd Saturdays returns to downtown Tucson.
The street festival will feature a performance by AC/DC tribute band TNT. The national touring group agreed to return to the Rialto for a free show after its scheduled event in January gave way to a musical vigil for U.S. Rep. Giffords and the other victims of the Jan. 8 mass shooting at Oracle and Ina roads.
Music will line Congress Street from the Rialto to the Fox theaters, featuring Tammy West & the Culprits, Five Way Street and Kevin Pakulis on the Scott Avenue outdoor stage.
The Red Room At Grill features jazz and blues performer George Rosenberg. The outdoor theater will feature a children’s movie along with popcorn and bungee jumping for kids of all ages. Merchant discounts will be offered throughout downtown along with numerous street vendors. The late-night clubs Sapphire Lounge and Zen Rock will open early, and the Fox Theatre will premiere the play “Willy Wonka” produced by the Christian Youth Theatre.
Downtown museums have joined together to participate in the Tucson Passport promotion. Simply visit the Tucson Children’s Museum, Southern Arizona Transportation Museum or the Museum of Contemporary Art during the event and pick up a museum passport, which can be redeemed at a designed local merchant for a free treat.
