The Town of Marana offers housing services to qualified residents, including roof repair, heating and cooling systems, septic systems, minor home rehabilitation, emergency repair and weatherization.
Applicants are accepted on a continual basis and ranked based on four priorities, a release said.
Those priorities are:
• 1 — age 60 or older, handicapped people or families with children 8 years of age or younger who have "health and safety" repair items;
• 2 — health and safety repair items;
• 3 — Applicants age 60 or older, handicapped people or families with children 8 years of age and younger whose houses are in need of repair;
• 4 — Applicants whose houses are in need of repair.
Applicants must own and live in their homes for a minimum of 12 months, the property must be located within the Town of Marana incorporated limits, and an applicant's income must not exceed certain limits. Income from all persons residing in the home is included in the total annual income.
The town receives a share of Pima County's funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development's Community Development Block Grant program to provide these services.
