A Nativity scene, created by Catalina area children, is being presented this Friday and Saturday, Dec. 17 and 18.

It is free and open to the public at 14164 N. Bowman. Watch for signs on Oracle and Wilds roads.

Shows are presented at 6, 6:30, 7 and 7:30 p.m. each night.

“It’s our Christmas card to the community, you might say,” said parent Mercy Huss, whose children are among the participants. The production is not affiliated with a church.

“It is just our family doing it, with some friends recruited to play the children’s parts, run the sound and lights, etc.”

There is a cast of 10 to 12 children for each show, ranging in age from about 4 to 11.

Free hot chocolate is being served. People are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items for donation to the Catalina Food Bank.
