Marana's annual Fall Harvest Festival is this Saturday, Oct. 23, from 10 a.m. to sunset at Heritage House, 12375 N. Heritage Park Drive.

Arts and crafts, entertainment, food, vintage farm equipment, the River Park Train ride, free hay wagon rides, milling of mesquite bean pods by the Desert Harvesters, a petting zoo, pie-tasting and a farmers market are part of a family fun day outdoors at the event, put on by the Marana Heritage Conservancy.

Admission is free. Donations are accepted. Parking is $2.

Monster truck rides are $5 for people of all ages. The tractor pull is $3 for adults, and free for those under 18.

Sarah the Witch attempts to fly between 10 and 11 a.m.

This year's festival celebrates the 235th anniversary of the Journey of Juan Bautista de Anza through what is now Marana. Lt. Col. Anza passed along the Santa Cruz River in October 1775. The National Park Service is officially recognizing Marana's portion of the Anza Trail at the event.

For information, call Brenda Arwood at 465-4004, Rosie Del Turco at 744-8012, or Joan Smith at 572-5601.
