Special to The Explorer

The next in a series of community education workshops on solar energy is being presented from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 6, at the Nanini Branch Library, 7300 N. Shannon in the Northwest.

Rep. Gabrielle Giffords and the Pima County Public Library present "Solar Power 101."

Space is limited. Interested people should RSVP by Monday, Jan. 4, to RSVPsolar@mail.house.gov, or by calling 881-3588.

At "Solar Power 101," residents can learn the basics of solar energy residential systems, and how to get started with solar power in the home, a release said.

A representative from Solon Corp., the Tucson company that manufactures solar modules and systems for the North American market, is going to give an overview of products and projects, locally and worldwide.

PV Recycling is presenting information about photovoltaic module manufacturers.

In its third year, Solar Power 101 has attracted more than 1,800 people to workshops throughout the Congressional district.
