In its 80th season, the Tucson Symphony Orchestra has three special holiday presentations.
Handel’s Messiah, with the TSO Chorus, is offered Dec. 5 through 7 at Catalina Foothills High School. The Friday and Saturday performances begin at 8 p.m.; the Sunday concert is a 2 p.m. matinee.
“The TSO Chorus shines in this annual tradition for the entire family,” a release said. “Magnificent and breathtaking.”
The music of Mozart, Beethoven and Bartok is conducted by Guillermo Figueroa Dec. 11, 12 and 14 at the Tucson Music Hall. Figueroa leads the orchestra in Mozart’s Overture to “The Impresario,” Beethoven’s Symphony No. 4 and Bartok’s Concerto for Orchestra.
The Thursday and Friday classic concerts begin at 8 p.m. The Sunday concert is at 2 p.m.
And the TSO presents its annual holiday musical extravaganza, the Holiday Spectacular, Dec. 19 through 21 at the Tucson Music Hall. It features Nutcracker excerpts and holiday sing-alongs.
The Friday and Saturday concerts begin at 7:30 p.m. The Sunday performance is at 2 p.m.
