A greater Tucson no-kill dog and cat shelter is seeking donations —"otherwise, closure is imminent," a release said.
HOPE Animal Shelter, identified as the city's lone no-kill shelter, is also looking for a sponsor, someone who would "allow us the freedom to buy our own land and build a sanctuary," said Susan Scherl, executive director.
"I am appealing to our community to support HOPE so that we can continue our important life-saving work," Scherl said.
"No donation is too small," she continued. "Even $5 can make a difference."
HOPE Animal Shelter provides "a safe, clean, loving, no-kill haven for unwanted or abandoned cats and dogs," the release said. "HOPE ensures that all animals are well cared for emotionally, medically, and physically during this uncertain time in their lives."
Donations may be made by phone, by mail, and via the website, www.hopeanimalshelter.net. Donors can choose a one-time gift, or sign up to become monthly sponsors. All donations are tax deductible.
