Crystal Rose Stark, the Tucson resident and American Idol finalist, performs in the next free indoor concert at the Park Place Mall this Thursday, July 22.
The show starts at 6 p.m. in the food court.
Stark is a "rising pop/R&B singer who brings a positive message to today's music scene," a release said. "Based on her church-singing roots, she knew that she wanted to pursue a full-time career in music."
The University of Arizona graduate has fronted various jazz, soul, funk and rhythm and blues groups, and has been a featured jazz artist with the Tucson Jazz Society.
Stark was among the top 44 contestants out of the 100,000 that tried out across the country for American Idol in its fifth season.
Free weekly concerts are sponsored by the Southern Arizona Arts and Cultural Alliance and General Growth Properties. Bill Ganz and his Western Band perform July 29; No Man's Land plays jazz and blues Aug. 5; Jimmy and the Jitterbugs swing on Aug. 12; Kari Ann Shaff sings jazz vocals Aug. 19.
