Silver spurs, a club for children and teenagers interested in horses, is recruiting new members.
The 4-H group offers riding lessons, guidance in horse handling and preparation for horse shows. It also teaches teamwork, community service, public speaking and leadership.
Members, who range in age from 9 to 19, need not own horses.
Silver Spurs members have gone on to be successful not only at local 4-H shows but also at Arizona’s state fair and the Arabian Youth National Championships.
The club holds organizational meetings once a month at Metro Water District, 6265 N. La Cañada Drive.
