The Tucson Symphony Orchestra concludes its 2009-'10 season with a program of water-themed works, "River's Edge," this Thursday and Friday, May 7 and 8, at the Tucson Music Hall.
Music Director and Conductor George Hanson leads the TSO in performances of "On the Beautiful Blue Danube" by Johann Strauss II, Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov's orchestration of "Dawn on the Moskva River" from Modest Mussorgsky's opera Khovantschina, and Robert Schumann's Symphony No. 3, "Rhenish."
"What a beautiful excuse to put together several wonderful works," Hanson said. "You will come to the concert with three favorites and leave with five."
Hanson gives a pre-concert at 7 p.m. at the Tucson Music Hall before both 8 p.m. performances.
