A luxury bus tour of four exquisite residential landscapes in greater Tucson is arranged for Saturday, April 10, through the Tucson Botanical Gardens.
It's being billed the Ultimate Private Home Garden Tour, with no hassles over directions, traffic or crowds.
Instead, patrons arrive at the botanical gardens, 2150 N. Alvernon Way, in the morning, board the bus and take leisurely tours of the gardens, two in the morning, two in the afternoon.
"Each featured garden exemplifies aesthetics in hardscape and landscape, demonstrates responsible gardening exceptional landscape design that incorporates low water use and exhibits the philosophy or theme in the garden that is important to the homeowner," a release said. "The focus of the tour is to present a continuum of gardening practices and changing lifestyles in Tucson by featuring gardens that span more than 100 years and represent the changing fashions in southwestern gardening."
The Ultimate Private Home Garden Tour is open to 87 people, in three groups of 29. Each garden tour is led by docents. Homeowners, landscape architects or designers involved in creating the environments are available to visitors. Lunch is served at Hacienda del Sol. Gifts and refreshments are supplied throughout the day.
