This year is Tohono Chul Park's 25th anniversary, and the Paseo del Norte park has scheduled a day of family fun on Saturday, April 17, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
There are reading activities, crafts, cake and ice cream, and more, a release said.
Stories That Soar, Tucson's premiere literacy and performing arts group, features professional adult performers giving voice to original stories by Tucson children.
Sculptor Selina Littler asks for help in building an interactive ground spiral of desert branches, an example of outdoor environ¬mental art and part of the exhibit "Art That Heals."
Children can read with local children's book authors, and there are hands-on craft activities for all ages, including a paper version of the Birds of Tohono Chul quilt.
The event is free for park members, with regular admission prices for the general public.
