The Tucson Jazz Society’s spring series, Experience Jazz in a New Way, kicks off with jazz vocalist and bassist Kristin Korb along with pianist Llew Mathews on Friday, March 25 at the Westward Look Resort, 245 E. Ina Road.
“We are thrilled to have Kristin and Llew, along with our own Pete Swan, to launch our spring series this year,” said Rick Gregson, president of the Tucson Jazz Society. “We could not think of a better combination to attract new fans to the jazz scene here in Tucson than moving these concerts to Friday nights and having our first performance at the wonderful Westward Look Resort.”
Korb sings with a personal approach and a deep sense of swing. Her release “In The Meantime” features her innovative arrangements of jazz standards with the help of jazz greats Bob Sheppard, Nick Mancini, Llew Matthews, Steve Barnes and Larry Koonse.
Experience Jazz in a New Way is sponsored by Jack Furrier Tire and Auto Care.
The Tucson Jazz Society was founded in 1977 with the mission of promoting and preserving America’s original music – jazz. It is one of the nation’s largest jazz societies, with an active membership of more than 2,200 members.
