On September 12, at about 10:30 p.m., Foothills District deputies responded to the Circle K, located at 3712 West Cortaro Farms Road, in response to a strong-armed robbery.

Deputies learned an unidentified male entered the store, went behind the counter, and took numerous cartons of cigarettes.

The deputies were told the suspect implied he had a weapon and told the employee he would be fine if he did not do anything. The suspect never displayed a weapon, however the Circle K employee assumed he was armed. While behind the counter, the suspect filled two trash bags with cartons of cigarettes and left the store. The Circle K employee was not injured.

The Sheriff’s Department Night Detective Unit responded and took over the investigation. Anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to call 9-1-1 or 88 CRIME.
