An educational flyer is available regarding the importance of car seats for children.
The Pima County Health Department offers links to the flyer and Web sites to assist parents, grandparents and caregivers, a release said.
“Children must be properly secured in a car or booster seat based on age, weight and height,” the release said. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, too often people don’t use the right child safety seats for a child’s size and age, do not place a child safety seat in the correct direction, and incorrectly install a child safety seat in relation to the vehicle’s air bags.
Web site visitors are asked to log onto www.pimahealth.org and click on Public Health Nursing’s Car Seat Safety Education link.
