The Ironwood Ridge Nighthawks put on a dominating performance in round one of the Division II state playoffs, defeating the Prescott Badgers 52-14.
Anthony Braunreiter had four touchdowns in the win, bringing his season total to 21, while Tyler Williams managed the longest rushing touchdown of the night at 97 yards.
Prescott was extremely limited by the high-pressure defense of Ironwood Ridge, and was forced to punt repeatedly. The Nighthawks recovered two fumbles, both which turned into offensive scoring drives under Williams and Braunreiter.
With the win, the Nighthawks improve to 10-1 on the season, and will host another home game against six-seeded Apollo High School on Nov. 9. Apollo advanced after defeating Horizon 24-20 last night.
