The Tortolita Middle School Orchestra held its 25th Annual Community Concert Friday. The students played at the Life Care Center and the Foothills Mall. The orchestra is comprised of almost 50 students in seventh and eighth grade.
Diane Abrams, Orchestra Director for Tortolita Middle School, began the tradition 25 years ago as an opportunity to share with the community the importance of the arts as well as engage students in a service-learning project where they learn the importance of community service and experience the joy of sharing their talent.
In addition to performing for the residents of the Life Care Center, students presented each resident with a personally made ornament.
