Reader photo Oro Valley resident Sandra Anderson saw this Gila monster pass through her yard earlier this month. Most Gila monster's teeth have two channels that conduct their nerve toxin venom from glands in the lower jaw. While the bite can overpower its predators and prey, it is rarely fatal to humans.
