The Tucson Jazz Society wraps up it's world class summer series at Loews Ventana Canyon Resort with the innovative jazz fusion and the electrifying showmanship of Sylvan Street on Sunday, Sept. 1 in the Grand Ballroom. Showtime is 7 p.m.

Under the dynamic leadership of bass player Jay Rees, Sylvan Street performs a diverse program of eclectic jazz, rock, latin and funk via finely crafted tunes. Joining Jay on stage are Kelland Thomas, sax; Chad Shoopman, trumpet; Kenny Smukal, trumpet; Frank Browne, guitar; Andrew Hix, drums/vocals; Evan Rees, keyboard; Michael Faltin, percussion with fresh interpretations.

This band delivers a hip, urban sound that appeals to all ages and takes the listener through tribal funk grooves, bittersweet love ballads, jump swing and blues. To hear samples and read more about the musicians, go to www.sylvanstreetjazz.com.
