Come celebrate Earth Day with us! Pima Community College is hosting an Earth Day event at Northwest Campus on Wednesday, April 17.

Learn about planet Earth and engage in hands-on activities for all ages related to protecting our environment, as well as climatology, geosciences, biology, astronomy, and physics from more than 60 community organizations. Find out about careers in science as well as many other excellent PCC programs, try out our giant campus sundial, snack on food cooked in a solar oven and observe the sun safely through a solar telescope.

Activities are 9 a.m.-1 p.m. on the second level.

The Northwest Campus is located at 7600 N. Shannon Road, just north of the Ina and Shannon intersection. Parking is free. Join us for this fantastic fun event!

According to Earth Day Network, more than 1 billion people participate in Earth Day activities each year, making it the largest civic observance in the world. The first Earth Day on April 22, 1970, activated 20 million Americans from all walks of life and is widely credited with launching the modern environmental movement. The passage of the landmark Clean Air Act. Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act and many other groundbreaking environmental laws soon followed.
