The Rialto is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the historic 1,300-capacity theatre that brings over 150 live events to Tucson every year.

Community Support is critical to the ongoing success of the theatre. Membership programs provide discounted ticket prices, advance sales, and drink discounts!

Check below for upcoming events, and get tickets or more information at www.rialtotheatre.com or 740-1000.

The Rialto Theatre, located at 318 E. Congress Street, has been a part of Tucson history since its construction in 1919. It has had many incarnations as a vaudeville theatre, movie theatre, furniture storage, a Spanish movie theatre, even a pornography theatre (where an upset patron tried to burn it down), and again as a Spanish theatre, the El Cine Plaza until a boiler exploded and the theatre closed in 1984.

In 1995, Jeb Schoonover and Paul Bear of Tucson Community Radio Station, KXCI, obtained the theatre and started renovating it, operating until 2004. The theatre has been operating since then as the Rialto Theatre Foundation.
