Close to 100 children searched for 5,000 goody-filled eggs during the Easter Egg Spectacular hosted April 16 by Dove Mountain Lutheran Church at Dove Mountain Park. The highlight of the event, said Pastor Mark Jacobson, was the jelly bean contest, in which people guessed the number of candies in a jar. While some youngsters estimated 12 and 25 jelly beans, the winner, whose name was not announced, came very close by guessing 1,380 pieces. The actual number was 1,408. In addition to fun activities, the event also collected food to donate to the Marana Food Bank.
