On Feb. 21 around 6:00 a.m. the Oro Valley Police Department responded to the 1500 block of east Pusch Wilderness Drive in reference to a domestic dispute.

Witnesses reported a fight in progress, and as OVPD arrived on scene, officers separated the parties involved.

OVPD learned that Damien Martinez, a 37-year-old Hispanic male, had gotten into a physical altercation with a family member.

The victim had sustained at least one stab wound and was transported to a trauma center. The victim is currently listed with non-life threatening injuries.

Damien Martinez was booked into the Pima County Adult Detention Center and has been charged with one count each of Attempted First Degree Murder (F2) and Domestic Violence/Aggravated Assault (F3).

The investigation is still on-going, and the OVPD Criminal Investigations Unit is asking for anyone with additional information to please contact 88-crime, 911, or (520) 229-4900.
