The driver of a car involved in a single-car rollover this afternoon has been flown to University Medical Center Tucson for treatment.
The driver, a female who was not identified in press information, was found inside her car, which rolled over on Highway 79 just west of Oracle Road early this afternoon. Golder Ranch Fire District units responded to the call for assistance at about 1 p.m. today.
GRFD units had to extricate the driver, who was then flown by LifeNet to UMC. The driver was not wearing a seatbelt.
The Department of Public Safety is on the scene investigating the accident. DPS believes speed may have played a role in the accident.
GRFD reminds all drivers to utilize their seatbelts when traveling ina vehicle and to obey posted speed limits.
