On Dec. 4 between 7:00am and 3:00pm the Marana Police Department will be conducting an Impaired Driving Education and Awareness Demonstration at Marana High School.
This demonstration will be presented to every driver's education class at the high school, and will consist of:
1. Educating students on the physical dangers of driving impaired
2. The legal ramifications of committing the crime of DUI
3. The social and financial impact of this crime to society.
Students will also have the opportunity to wear ‘DUI’ goggles which simulates driving while impaired; attempting to navigate a cone course while driving a golf cart.
The Marana Police Department and The Marana High School conducts this class twice a year; before both the Christmas break and Spring Break in an effort to reduce underage drinking and DUI.
