On Monday, Pima County announced they have finished counting the provisional and early ballots from the Nov. 6 election. The Pima County Board of Supervisors has scheduled a special meeting Nov. 26 at 9 a.m. to certify the election results.

While county election officials finished counting the remaining 566 ballots on Monday, most of the close races were called over the weekend.

The most watched race was in Congressional District 2, where Rep. Ron Barber narrowly beat Republican Martha McSally by about 1,400 votes.

Barber said, “ I am deeply grateful to everyone who supported me in this campaign. Thank you to those who voted for me, knocked on doors, made phone calls, or contributed to this campaign in so many ways. Our charge is clear: to stand up for middle class families and look out for Southern Arizona’s future.”

While Pima County has finished counting ballots, counting continues in other counties. As of Tuesday morning, 13 of the state’s 15 counties have finished. Maricopa still had more than 30,000 provisional ballots to count by Tuesday morning.
