Sara Blanchard is a young lady who wants to make this world a better place.  At a very young age, she understood that everybody can help, even children.  When Sara was four years old, she dipped into her piggy bank to help Hurricane Katrina survivors.

Giving to others is a Blanchard family tradition. For years, Sara has helped her dad with a project that provides food and other necessities to families who cannot afford even the basics.  The Edward Jones Bag-a-Thon collected two-thousand pounds of food in its first year.  Last year, it was 85-thousand pounds.  Sara organizes food and donation drives at Wilson K-8 School, and at her dance school.  When it comes time to deliver the items to a local food bank, she goes along to help sort the food.

Sara got the dancing bug at age three. She works very hard at her dance, including ballet, tap, and jazz.  She has participated in national competitions through the New York City Dance Alliance.  She played young Alice in a local dance production called, “I Wonder if my Name is Alice.”

She is also an excellent student at Wilson K-8 School where she is in 7th grade. Education is very important to Sara.  She knows good grades come first, but she manages to take part in all her interests, and do them all very well.

She is a mentor to her sister, Allison. Her kind and giving nature; her good sense of humor, and love for her family make this 12-year-old one special girl.
