Former Accenture champs Kuchar and Mahan advance

Rory McIlory was bumped out by Harris English who defeated McIlroy 1 up after going one extra hole.

First the pack was filled with 64 golfers, and then today 32 golfers entered onto the Golf Course at Dove Mountain, only to leave 16 golfers to come back on Friday to compete at the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship.

In losing the next half of the playing field today, the last number one seed, Rory McIlory was bumped out by Harris English who defeated McIlroy 1 up after going one extra hole.

Surprisingly, Rickie Fowler, a 14-seed, stood his ground against Jimmy Walker, a six-seed, by going a full 18 holes. Fowler finished 1 up.

Crowd favorites Bubba Watson, Jason Day, University of Arizona alumni Jim Furyk, and former champions Hunter Mahan and Matt Kuchar advance to play tomorrow.
