Monday morning, 28 members with Northwest Fire District responded to the Coca-Cola Bottling Company, 5551 West Coca Cola Pl., after a call came in about an explosion.

At about 8 a.m., four people within the building heard an explosion, which one thought was a truck running into the side of the building, according to Northwest Fire Safety Officer, Captain Ryder Hartley.

Not knowing what the situation would be and understanding both natural gas and compressed gasses are housed at the facility, Northwest Fire responded with numerous trucks, including its HAZMAT unit.

A commercial-sized water heater, which is about five feet long and about two and half feet in diameter, failed, according to Hartley.

No one was injured.

The incident is under investigation as to what caused the water heater to fail.
