A contest created to honor women veterans begins appropriately on Friday, Nov. 11, Veterans Day.
Rep. Terri Proud and the Arizona Department of Veterans Services are partners in the competition, which is to design a specialty license plate honoring women vets.
Rep. Proud has developed a website where Arizonans can submit their own design: http://azwomenvets.weebly.com.
More information is available on the site, as well as on Facebook at AZ Women Vets.
The winning entry will become the new design for the Arizona Women Veteran's license plate.
The contest begins Nov. 11 and ends at midnight on Dec. 2.
All designs will be reviewed and selected by the Arizona Department of Veterans Services, which will announce the winner on Dec. 15. The selected winner will be presented with the first Women Veteran's License Plate once it is finalized by the Arizona Department of Transportation.
All proceeds from the Women Veteran's License Plate will go to help the homeless women veterans in the state of Arizona.
