Five high school students who earlier this month received scholarships from Youth on Their Own, a non-profit organization helping homeless youth graduate from high school, intend to attend Pima Community College.

Below is a list of the PCC-bound students, their high school and intended field of study, who received Youth on Their Own scholarships at an event on April 12 at Loews Ventana Canyon Resort.

  • Jason Arreaga: Flowing Wells High School, Criminology
  • Isela Figueroa: Nosotros Academy, Literature
  • Ashraff Hamza: Rincon High School, Aviation Technology
  • Kedar Magar:  Catalina Magnet High School, Technology Engineering
  • Melina Mora, Mountain Rose Academy

PCC’s own graduation ceremony will be May 22 at the Tucson Convention Center. PCC will confer degrees and certificates on a school-record 3,791 students.
