Bobcats are venturing closer to civilization, as evidenced by the number of bobcat photos The Explorer has received from our readers. These beautiful, spotted felines may visit your neighborhood in search of food, water or shelter.

You may choose to watch and enjoy a bobcat or bobcat family sharing your yard. However, if you have small pets or livestock, you may want to discourage the bobcat from coming onto your property. Remember, it is always a good idea to keep wildlife wild, according to the Arizona Game & Fish Department.

For more information about living with bobcats, visit the AGFD Web site at http://www.azgfd.gov/w_c/urban_bobcat.shtml.
