Northwest Firefighters responded to the intersection of Oldfather Drive and Mars Street after a two car collision just after 9 p.m.
The driver of the white pick-up, a 51 year-old female was trapped inside of the vehicle after it overturned onto its side and firefighters used specialized Jaws of Life equipment to remove the roof in order to free her. She sustained minor injuries and was transported to the University of Arizona Medical Centers trauma unit for evaluation. The driver of the second vehicle involved was uninjured.
The intersection was closed during the extrication and investigation process.
The Pima County Sheriff’s Department was at the scene to conduct the investigation into the cause of the accident.
