The Regional Transportation Authority is seeking applicants to fill as many as five vacant positions on the Citizens Accountability for Regional Transportation (CART) Committee.
Members of the committee are responsible for providing oversight on implementation of the $2.1 billion regional transportation plan, which includes 51 ballot items approved by voters on May 16, 2006.
Applicants must complete an application form, available at www.RTAmobility.com. Applications must be mailed and postmarked, or hand delivered to Pima Association of Governments, 177 N. Church Ave., Suite 405, Tucson, AZ, by 5 p.m. Aug. 26.
The committee, which meets quarterly, also reviews the RTA's annual report, which details project status, the volume of sales tax collections and how the tax dollars are spent each year.
CART Committee members serve staggered terms and new members will serve a four-year term, starting Oct. 1.
In addition to citizens selected through the application process, each of the RTA's member jurisdictions appoints a representative. All CART member recommendations are approved by the RTA Board.
