Readers’ photos capture the wild Northwest
Oro Valley residents Larry and Kathy Coyne observed this young
great blue heron visiting their pool late last month. “Looks like
he thinks we have stocked our pool with fish,” they told The
Oro Valley resident Paul Pomeroy was standing in his driveway
when he heard a noise in the tree almost directly overhead. He
looked up expecting to see a bird, but instead came face to face
with a reality of nature – a bobcat with a rabbit. Apparently
wanting a bit more privacy, the bobcat slowly came down the tree
and headed off for some bushes in a neighbor’s yard.
All eyes were on Rafael J. Flores as he captured this photo of
two owls resting outside his house.
