College golf in SaddleBrooke

On March 15, the 15th annual MountainView Collegiate Women’s Golf Invitational came to SaddleBrooke.

With women coming from 15 universities from across the country, bringing 84 golfers to SaddleBrooke, the annual tournament brought some of the top female college golfers.

The 15-team field included the following schools:  Kansas State, Missouri, Colorado State, North Texas, San Jose State, Texas Tech, Wyoming, College of Charleston, Indiana, Iowa, Texas State, Northern Arizona, RedlandsCC, UNC Greensboro, University of Iowa, and Wichita State.

Texas Tech took first place for the teams, finishing 6-under. San Jose State University came in second one stroke behind and Texas State University placed third.

For the individuals, Krista Puisite from Texas State finished first with 7-under. She is currently ranked 23 nationally. Gabby Dominguez from Texas Tech finished second with 5-under. Jennifer Brumbaugh from San Jose State and Kimberly Kaufman from Texas Tech tied for third at 3-under. Kaufman is ranked sixth in the nation.
