The Town and Northwest Fire District yesterday honored the late Jack Horton with a memorial dedication at the district’s station in North Marana. Horton was a hard-working business owner in the community who also served as a Town Councilmember and volunteer firefighter.
Mayor Ed Honea, a friend of Horton’s, was one of the event speakers. Several members of the Horton family were on hand to remember Jack as an important part of Marana’s formative years.
The memorial is located at Station 36 (13475 N. Marana Main St.). It’s a fitting way to remember a man who was so important to Marana’s maturation as a community.
